Acts 11: 19-26; Psalm 87: 1-3, 4-5, 6-7; John 10: 22-30

hearing
God’s voice
we are filled with
the Holy Spirit
we see
the grace of God
and rejoice
encouraging
one another
to firmness
of heart
working
for love
justice
and mercy
in God’s name

Where do you see the grace of God?
How do you hear God’s voice

Acts 11:1-18; Psalm 42:2-4; John 10:11-18

dreams
and visions
open our minds
to all that is
of God
nothing created
is profane
but ill intent–
with our soul’s
longing
we hear His voice
and open our hearts
to a love
that endures
our lives
are taken up
as we enter
the joy
of the living God

Do you listen to your dreams?
Do you hear Gods’ voice?
What is your vision?

Acts 2: 14: 36-41; Psalm 23: 1-6; 1 Peter 2: 20-25; John 10: 1-10

we hear
His voice
we turn
and know
the way
guardian
of our souls
we follow
paths to life
safe from those
that would
steal our soul
we are given
safe passage
through verdant pasture
and restful waters
even in darkness
we have no fear
for courage
guides us
goodness
and kindness
follow us
passing through
the open gate
we leave
behind
all that is called sin
and enter
God’s will
that is love

Do you hear and know his voice?
Do you follow?

Feast of St. Mark
1Peter 5:5-14; Psalm 89: 2-17; Mark 16:15-20

we speak the language
of God’s compassion
with humility

and steadfast faith
singing
the goodness
of the Lord
casting
our worries
upon Him
the God of all grace
because He cares for us
providing
love and strength
and guidance
for all we must face
in the world
that challenges us
everyday

Do you cast your worries upon the Lord?
Do you speak the language of compassion?
Do you sing the goodness of the Lord?

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to the Holy Spirit
being touched
deeply
by God
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
God

How has God shined His light on you?
What do you see?

Acts 8: 26-40; Psalm 66:3-20; John 6: 44-51

seeking
an answer
we hear
a name
above all others
that calls
to us
from one
who gives
life to our souls
living bread
eternal vision
Jesus
He says
“follow”
baptized
in his living water
we follow
the Holy Spirit
given as our guide

Who opens the Scriptures to you?
How do you follow?
Who is your guide?

Acts 8: 1b-8; Psalm 66: 1-7; John 6: 35-40

Jesus
the Bread of Life

He brings us
home
to God
our creator
whose will
is for our good

and for love
to live
in our
day to day
even as
the world
persecutes
His message
His Spirit lives
and is our strength
our joy

and love

How does God’s love live in you?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
and we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life

yet somehow
a stilled heart
opens to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
and our ignorance
is forgiven
as we are given
refuge
shelter
and new life
with Him

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6: 22-29

sent
by God
through
the Holy Spirit
He walks
among us
showing
a way
to work
not for bread
that perishes
but for the food
that endures

What is this food that endures for eternal life?

Acts 2: 14, 22-28; Psalm: 16: 1-2, 7-11; 1 Peter: 17-21; Luke 24: 13-35

hidden
in plain sight
He walks
with us
informs us
guides us
even as we are blind
unknowing
unaware
He sets us on
the path of life
our sojourn
to freedom
in a strange land
delivered
from futility
in one moment
bread raised up
our hearts
and mind open
to the joy
of the Lord
risen
alive
saving us
from all
that leads
to death
even death itself

Do you see him hidden in plain sight?
Do you follow His path?
Have you entered the joy of the Lord?
