Matthew 5:13-16

a light
that shines
within
drawn out
to meet another
drawn out
to meet
our God
we are guided
by this-
our prayers
for love
and healing
are answered
as we provide
each other
with sustenance
creating
a culture of Life
from a culture of death
we are the salt
of the earth

Are you guided by your inner light?
What is the source of your light?

Heb 13:15-21; Psalm 23:1-6; Mark 6:30-34

our hearts
moved
by the Spirit
not neglecting
to do good
and share
what we have
we listen
for the voice
that will lead
us through
the valley
of our fears
into the Light
of Love
healing divisions
inspired
by His words
refreshing
our soul
we are no longer lost
to ourselves
or each other

What voice do you hear?
What story guides your life?

Hebrew 12:1-8; Psalm 27:1-9: Mark 6:14-29

embraced
by the Holy Spirit
we let Love
continue
content
with what we have
being
welcoming
and mindful
of all
faithful
in all things
and make no promises
we cannot keep
following
the saving Light
of Grace
we have a refuge
in times of trouble
a home
in times of peace

Where do you find the strength of God’s love?
Where does the Holy Spirit guide you?

Mal: 3:1-4; Psalm 24: 7-10; Hebrews 2: 14-18; Luke 2:22-40

who can
endure
the day
of His coming
whose heart
and mind
have not
been touched
by some Truth
of our Being
Holy Spirit
upon us
we know Him
when He comes
by His love
for All
and embrace
all He brings
filling us with
gratitude
and love

How do you know Him when He comes?

Hebrew 12:4-7,11-15; PS 103:1-2, 13-14, 17-18A; John 10:27

let no bitter root
spring up
and cause trouble
through which
we may be lead
astray
we strive
for peace
with everyone
from a kindness
that is from eternity
Holy Spirit
provider
and guide
of God’s love
this Presence
this ground
of our being
here we take root
and grow deeply
into our faith
resisting all
that would
uproot us

Has a bitter root sprung up in your heart?
How can it be uprooted?

Mark 5: 21-43

in His Presence
we arise
no longer
afraid
letting go
of our burdens
we feel
His healing
power
eyes fixed
on love
we see
ourselves
and draw
healing and life
for our soul

On what are your eyes fixed?
Do you reach out for healing?
Do you reach out in love?

Mark 5:1-20

taking refuge
in the shelter
of God’s Presence
the demons
flee
at the sight
and sound
of His word
our hearts
take comfort
and hope
in the Goodness
of God
who shows us
the way

Where do you take refuge?
How does God show you the way?

Zephaniah 2:3-3:12-13; Psalm 146; 1 Corinthians 1: 26-31; Mt 5: 1-12

seeking
the Lord
seeking
wisdom
we find
what the world
sees
as foolish
lowly
and humble
we know
our need
our blessedness
in hunger
in mourning
in purity
in peace
we turn
from ruin
and enter
the joy
of the
Lord

Where do you seek God?
Where do you seek wisdom?
How do you find blessedness in hunger, in mourning and poverty?

Hebrews 11:1-19; Luke 1:69-75; Mark 4:35-41

called by faith
to a foreign land
we find
our bearings
and guidance
in God
seeking
to build
a new foundation
whose architect
and maker
is God
so that
when the winds come
and the seas roar
we will
not be terrified
or shaken
but found living
in our realized
faith

Jesus asked, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?

Hebrews 10: 32-39; Psalm 37: 3-40; Mark 4: 26-34

we scatter
seeds
in joy
and hope
not knowing
what will come
we labor
in faith
sustained
by the One
who knows
the harvest
never knowing
what suffering
or challenge
may come
even to
our faith
over and over
our daily bread
is to choose life
for ourselves
for others
knowing all
love
and justice
is gift

What challenges your faith?
What calls you to Life?
