Deut 18:15-20; Psalm 95: 1-2, 6-7, 7-9; 1 Cor 7.32-35; Mark 1.21-28

word of God
we pray for you to
be upon our lips
for we want nothing
but to serve
your love
and goodness
break our hearts
of stone
to sing joyfully
to praise
to worship
to follow
your ways of love
and goodness
Jesus
speak through
our hearts and life
and let any darkness
be extinguished
by your radiant light

Do you let love and goodness break into your heart?

2Samuel 12:1-7a, 10-17; Psalm 51:12-17; Mark 4:35-41

we see
who we are
through wisdom’s mirror
in need
of a renewed spirit
we pray
for a willing spirit
to sustain us
and bring back
our joy

caught
in the storm
we are tossed
and turned
by our fears
and anxiety
crying out
we hear
“Be still”
and all that seemed
beyond us
that is beyond us
is calmed

facing all
with God
we learn
mercy
and grace

What has taught you mercy and grace?

Mark 4:26-34

one seed
for good
or evil
planted
grows
through
the mystery
of its being
and plan
bearing
its fruit
and consequence
for life
or death
one a living branch
supported life
and beauty
the other
in need
of mercy

What seed have you planted?

Acts 22:3-16; Psalm 117:1,2; Mark 16:15-18

living
in our delusions
we separate
and persecute
thinking we know
what is right and good
until the Light
of Grace
that reveals
the Truth
of Oneness
and Love
challenges
everything
we have ever believed
setting us free
for new life
living
in peace
and harmony
in God’s Love
This is the Good News.

What light do you see
What do you hear?

Mark 4:1-20

sower
with the seeds
of God’s word
scattered
into our hearts
are quickly
snatched away
by some evil
scorched away
from having no root
choked
by the world’s
anxiety
yet those that fall
into the rich soil
we have prepared
bear the fruit
of God’s love

How do you prepare your heart for God’s word?

Mark 3:31-35

we come
as family
one Spirit
of will
to love
in ways
beyond law
and sacrifice
a new song
arising
that the world
has not heard
a justice
not experienced
in weighted scales
and gavels
but drawn
from God’s abundant love
we dance for joy
before our God

What is the new song you hear?

Mark 3:22-30

Holy Spirit
word of life
making all things
new
a song
arises
from our heart
and soul
as we experience
the gifts
of your ways
love
joy
peace
generosity
patience
faithfulness
self-control
we live
within the power
of your being
that sets things right
no one can deny
your Presence
and live
for you are life
itself

Do you live within the power of the Holy Spirit?
How do you know?

Jonah 3.1-5, 10; Psalm 25: 4-9; 1 Cor 7.29-31; Mark 1.14-20

Jonah
risen from the darkness
no longer hiding
proclaims a word
from God
of repentence
from evil ways
hearts hear
a Jonah word
a fast begins
sackcloth is worn
and a city is saved
by turning to God
our guide
and truth teacher
compassion and kindness
are revealed
goodness is remembered
in repentant hearts
we rejoice
in our humility
as a Christ world
of love enters
and we are renewed

What message has God asked you to speak?
What message has God asked you to hear?

2Samuel 1:1-4, 11-12,19,13-27; Psalm 80: 2-3,5-7; Mark 3:2-21

fed on the bread
of tears
our heart
and minds
are closed
until His love
and healing
find us
out of His mind
into the mind of God
we know
our place
beloved
and cherished
where neither
life or death
can separate us
from God’s
loving care

Is your mind open to the mind of God?

1Samuel 24:3-21; Psalm 57: 2-4; 6 and 11; Mark 3:13-19

in mercy
we are called
to follow
with the Holy Spirit
emptying
ourselves
of all enmity
anger
and jealousy
forgiving all
for the sake
of God’s love
that has come to us
freely
so that we may give
freely

How do you give and receive mercy?
