Acts 11: 1-18; Psalm 42: 2-3, 43: 3,4; John 10: 1-10

we listen
we hear
a voice
manifests
who knows us
and guides us
to goodness
one heart
one mind
even in all
of our diversity
gatekeeper
of heaven
among us
you tends
and guards us
against
all who might
try to steal
what belongs
to all…
the love of God

What is the voice you hear?

Acts 4.8-12; Ps. 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26,21,19; John 3.1,2; John 10, 11-18)

we build our lives
on this cornerstone
that was rejected
by the world’s power
a foundation
of saving grace
and mercy
laid down
beneath
our crippled lives
we are healed
and hear the voice
the one
who worked
for love
laying down
His life
freely
this love
we will follow
no longer trusting
human frailty
and princes
children of God
we know
who we are
and follow

What is it to hear the voice of God?
To hear the voice of Jesus?
To hear the Holy Spirit?

Acts 9:31-42; Psalm 116:12-17; John 6:60-69

leaving all
anxiety
we go forth
into this new life
we have come to know
as the peace of Christ
a serenity
the world cannot give
lifted up
by the Holy Spirit
we are given
all we need
and ask
how shall we return
all the good
that has been shown us?

How shall we return all the good that has been shown us?

Acts 9: 1-20; Psalm 117: 1,2; John 6: 52-59

stopped
cold
on our journey
a light
a voice
that speaks
the Truth
of who we are
no longer
persecutors
of one another
we live in
one spirit
one Holy Spirit
eating
and drinking
we live
on a food
eternal
given in
and for
love

What stops you on your journey?
What is being asked of you?

Acts 8: 26-40; Psalm 66:3-20; John 6: 44-51

seeking
an answer
we hear
a name
above all others
that calls
to us
from one
who gives
life to our souls
living bread
eternal vision
Jesus
He says
“follow”
baptized
in his living water
we follow
the Holy Spirit
given as our guide

How do you Understand?
How do we know what you are reading?
Who will instruct you?

Acts 8: 1b-8; Psalm 66: 1-7; John 6: 35-40

you call us
home
to God
creator
whose will
is our good
to live there
in our
day to day
even as
a world
persecutes
His message
His Spirit lives
and is our strength
our joy
our song

What is your song?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
and we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life

yet somehow
a stilled heart
opens to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
and our ignorance
is forgiven
as we are given
refuge
shelter
and new life
with Him

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?

Acts 6:8-15; Psalm 119: 23-30; John 6: 22-29

sent
by God
through
the Holy Spirit
He walks
among us
showing
a way
to work
not for bread
that perishes
but for the food
that endures

What is this food that endures?

Luke 24:35-48

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”
look
see Him
and let peace
be with you
He has risen
repentance
and forgiveness
are here
in His name
for all
who can see
a Glory shines
from heaven
over all the earth

“Why are you troubled?
Why do questions arise in your heart?”

Acts 6: 1-7; Psalm 33 1-5, 18-19; John 6: 16-21

busy
with our tasks
we forget
the word
of God
to love
and care
for all
in justice
caught in
our storms
of fear
and panic
we are lost
until one
appears
to calm
our fear
and guide us
and show us
the way
to serve
mindful
always
of our
sacred purpose

What is your sacred purpose?
