Acts 13:13-25; Psalm 89:2-27; John 13:16-20

from a distance
we see the story
of our lives
the story
of God’s love
and goodness
the only story
we have to tell
“forever
we shall sing
the goodness
of the Lord”

How has your life been the story of God’s love and goodness?

Acts 1:15-17,20-26; Psalm 113:1-8; John 15:9-17

all
are chosen
to receive
the words
of love
from God
as seeds planted
to grow
in our hearts
and minds

and fashion
our ways
of being
with one another
bringing
a joy
that is complete
as we remain in
and trust in
His friendship
and Love

Do you experience the joy of receiving and giving God’s love?
Do you trust in the one who knows your heart?
Do you see Jesus as your friend?

Acts 11:19-26; Psalm 87:1-7; John 10:22-30

with firmness
of heart
we put all
of our faith
in God
trusting in
the love
that is calling us
we welcome
every moment
as God’s grace
and let go
of our own programs
for happiness
and listen to
His voice

What are your programs for happiness?
What are God’s?

Acts 11:1-18; Psalm 42:2-4; John 10:11-18

dreams
and visions
open our minds
to all that is
of God
nothing created
is profane
but ill intent–
with our soul
in longing
we hear His voice
and open our lives
to a love
that endures
laid down
and taken up
we enter
the joy
of the living God

Do you listen to your dreams?
Do you hear Gods’ voice?
What is your vision?

Acts 13:14, 43-52; Psalm 100: 1-5; Rev 7: 9-17; John 10: 27-3

hearing
God’s voice
we long to follow

the one
who will lead us
through
every trial
showing
the way

through our great distress
and finding shelter
in Him
knowing
no hunger
knowing
no thirst
drinking
of living water
never to be snatched
from God’s hand
resting
secure
and able to share with
one another
in joy

What is your longing?
Do you hear His voice?
Do you follow His way?

Acts 9:31-42; Psalm 116:12-17; John 6:60-69

raised up
from all
that is dead in us
by the Spirit
of Life
we embrace
the goodness
of God
and share
what we have been given
being occupied
with good deeds
from God’s
deep source
of love
and abundance

How does the Spirit bring you Life?

Acts 9:1-20; Psalm 117:1,2; John 6:52-59

stopped
in the bright light
of awareness
our life
is questioned
in every possible way
our searching
our relationship
to others
ourselves
to the Holy Spirit
being touched
deeply
by God
by our Being
it is as though
scales fall from our eyes
and we awaken
from a dream
no longer alone
or apart
but a part
of a living
loving
God

How has God shined His light on you?
What do you see?

Acts 8:26-40; Psalm 66:8-20; John 6:44-51

in stillness
His words
come to us
reminding us
of the Spirit
that guides
relieving the anxiety
of day to day
by providing
what we need
strength
courage
fortitude
and peace
keeping our minds
and hearts fixed
we will not lose our way

How do we know what we are reading?
Who will instruct us?
Do you allow the stillness to speak?

Acts 8: 1b-8; Psalm 66: 1-7; John 6: 35-40

Jesus
the Bread of Life

He brings us
home
to God
our creator
whose will
is for our good

and for love
to live
in our
day to day
even as
the world
persecutes
His message
His Spirit lives
and is our strength
our joy

and love

How does God’s love live in you?

Acts 7:52-8:1;Psalm 31:3-21; John 6: 30-35

what bread
from heaven
will feed us
and give our lives
love and meaning
within the world’s chaos
when hearts
are closed
to the Holy Spirit
and we are lost
to our sacred purpose
killing what would bring life

yet somehow
a stilled heart
opens to the voice
of angels
prophets
and friend
piercing the shield
of our anxiety
and our ignorance
is forgiven
as we are given
refuge
shelter
and new life
with Him

How is Jesus the bread of life for you?
