Exodus 1:8-14,22; Psalm 124:1-8; Matthew 10:34-11:1

severed
from all
that would keep us
from God’s goodness
we surrender
into a great mystery
this cross
this dying
so that we might
rise again
in all that gives life
Holy Spirit
renewer of all
we find our place
in your guidance
your strength
bringing us
to a greater love

Do you say yes to God’s invitation to a greater love?

Dt. 30:1-14; Psalm 69:14-37; Colossians 1:15-20; Luke 10: 25-37

before all else
beyond all else
within all
there is Christ
image of
the invisible God
we are in awe
at the thought–
the reality
of Him
makes us soar
as we see
from mountaintops
all that is
and our hearts
are brought
to love–
God’s law
written within
we love
with all our heart
and soul
and strength
and mind
alive
within us
we proclaim
from our lips
as we travel roads
with this love
answering the need
for mercy
to all
who are in need

How do you experience Christ who is before, beyond and within all?
Do you take God’s law of love into your heart?
Do you take this love to your neighbor?

Genesis 49:29-50:15-26; Psalm 105:1-7; Mt 10: 24-33

forgiven
our soul
is set free
from all
that binds it
in time
knowing
the protection
of God
we let go
of our fear
walking
each moment
in the practice
of God’s presence
where our soul
resides
even as our bones
are buried
in our homeland
our Spirit
lives on
in God’s love

Do you let yourself be forgiven?
Do you forgive?
Do you feel God’s protection?

Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30; Psalm 37:3-40; Mt 10:16-23

leaving all
on nothing but faith
we are guided
by the inner light
of Christ
returning
to our source
all becomes
illuminated
by God’s infinite love
providing
all we need
for the day-to-day
in sickness
and health
joy
and sorrow
famine
or feast
we live
in the joy
of knowing

Where do you live?
What guides your life?

Reflect on todays scriptures in your life today

  • Are you facing a personal “Egypt”? A move, a decision, a conversation, or even just a new stage of life that feels uncertain?
  • Have you felt the cost of speaking or living in truth? Like a sheep among wolves?
  • Are you unsure what to say, or how to act, in difficult circumstances?

Today’s readings invite us to trust three things:

  1. God speaks in the night—just as Jacob heard in the darkness.
➤ Create space for quiet. God still calls your name.
  2. The Spirit gives us the words when we need them.
➤ You don’t have to rehearse everything ahead of time. Stay close to the Spirit.
  3. You are never alone.
➤ Whether you are going “down to Egypt” or standing before hostility, the Lord goes with you.

Genesis 44:18-21; Psalm 105:16-27; Matthew 10:7-15

we travel
carrying nothing
but Spirit
giving all
that we has been received
at no cost
until Truth
is revealed
and all is forgiven
we are set free
cured
and cleansed
the famine ends
in the abundance
of knowing
who we are in God’s love

Who are you?

Genesis 41:55-57; 42:5-7, 17-24; Psalm 33: 2-3, 10-11, 18-19; Matthew 10: 1-7

God
sees
the anguish
of our heart

we feel
his mercy
on us
as we place
our trust
in him

even as
famine
grips
the land

food is sent
through
his Son
in Body
and Spirit

we are healed

Does God see the anguish in your heart?
How are you healed?

Genesis 32:23-33;Psalm 17:2-15; Matthew 9:32-38

wrestling
through the night
with the power of God
challenging us
to stay faithful
to our calling
to heal
and give life
never despairing-
with the help
of God’s grace
we embrace
the truth
and care for all
with compassion

Do you find yourself wrestling with God?
How do you stay faithful?

Genesis 28:1-22; Psalm 91:1-15; Matthew 9:18-26

finding
our sacred place
we are filled
with the joy
and peace
of knowing

healed
or our lifelong
infirmities
raised from death
we feel the lightness
of our being
and rejoice
trusting
deeply
in the God
who hears us
and loves us
to life

Have you been healed of your lifelong infirmities?
Has God raised you from death?

Isaiah 66:10-14; Psalm 66:1-7,16,20; Galatians 6:14-18; Luke 10:1-20

sent out
two by two

like lambs
among wolves
we journey
with only
God’s living word
no walking stick
no traveling bag
no sandals
no room for illusion
we live only
God’s truth
of love
and peace
His reign at hand
our eyes are fixed
on heaven
through the cross
we live compassion
and rejoice
to see what God has done
in kindness
and mercy
we are created anew
knowing nothing
as our own
but only gift
to be given
in freedom

Does all of your nourishment come from God?
Is your life completely centered on your faith in God’s goodness?

Genesis 27: 1-7, 15-29; Psalm 135: 1-6; Matt 9:14-17

acting beyond
our human deceptions
blessing comes
from a Spirit
beyond ourselves
praising
a Goodness
and Truth
that will not die
even in our manipulations
we become new
in God’s presence
the Holy Silence
that opens a new way
as her Love pours in
and we live
with Him
and through God’s grace

Do you see and hear the Holy Spirit of Truth?
What are her words of love to you?
How do they manifest in your life?
