Amos 8:4-6,9-12; Psalm 119:2,10,20,30,40,131; Matthew 9:9-13

hearing the voice of the Prophets
seeking God
with all of our heart
and mind
longing for
the way of Truth
in the days of famine
we hear a voice
that says “follow
turning to the way
of mercy
we let go of the burden
of sinfulness
seeing the way
of peace

What voice do you hear?
Do you follow?
What is the way to peace?

Amos 7:10-17; Psalm 19:8-11; Matthew 9:1-8

in the silence
we hear God’s words
precepts
perfect
refreshing
and trustworthy
giving wisdom
to our soul
rejoicing
in our heart
enlightening our eye
to justice
and mercy
in God’s presence
we rise up
and walk
forgiving all
and seeing with
God’s love
and goodness

Does your soul rejoice in God’s word?

Matthew 8:23-27

living in the fear
of our storms
He awakens in us
to quell our fears
with a calmness
that sweeps over
our life
searching our heart
and soul
nothing is left untouched
brought to light
we lose our self reference
and see all in Him
God and Spirit
our guide
we live
in the spaciousness
of grace and mercy
where all is forgiven
and Heaven
rushes in

Do you allow God’s calming of the storms in your life?

Amos 2:6-10, 13-16; Psalm 50:16-23; Psalm 95:8; Mt 8:18-22

what is this
sacrifice of praise
we are to offer?
is it for the God
who needs none
or ourselves
to remember
who we are
created
to live
in the Spirit of Love
for ourselves
and another
heeding
the words of the prophets
to not give in
to temptations
of evil
that harden our hearts
but to listen
to God’s voice
that offers peace

What voice do you listen to?
What is your sacrifice of praise?

Kings 19:16-21; Psalm 16: 1-11; Galatians 51, 13-18; Luke 9:51-62

entering
the homelessness
of Christ
no den
no nest
He is our home
our following
we enter
the place
of love
with the Holy Spirit
knowing no boundaries
of Samaritan
of flesh
of law
but enjoined
to freedom
we follow
at any moment
love’s need
His calling
hand to the plow
we do not look back
only to the freedom
the path to life
our refuge
our counsel
this
we serve
and enter
the joy
of the Lord

Do you experience the homelessness of Christ?
Do you answer loves call each moment?
Do you find your home in God?

Lamentations 2:2,10-14,18-19; Psalm 74:1-2,3-7,20-21; Luke 2:41-51

pouring out our hearts
like water
in the Presence of God
we seek
the peace
of the Holy Spirit
as we watch the violence
of the land
and the hunger
of the people
for Goodness
seeking the answer
in the temples
and through the prophets
we strain our ears
to hear
the voice of the Spirit
that unites
not the law
that divides

Where do you seek peace?
How do you hear the Spirit that unites with love?

Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Ez 34:11-16; Psalm 23:1-6; Romans 5:5-11; Luke 15:3-7

lost
we are found
strayed
we are brought back
sick
we are healed
from the Holy Spirit
of God
bringing kindness
and goodness
to us
and all others
we live
and rejoice
in God’s mercy
and love

How do you experience God’s love pouring into your heart?
How do you share this love?

Solemnity of John the Baptist
Luke 1:57-66,80

formed
in our mother’s womb
we know
who we are
as we are called
into the light
and named
by the one who loves us
we embrace
the journey
of our lives
with all of its mystery
joys and sorrows
being lead
through our questions
that are answered
through God’s love

What are your questions?
Who answers?
Does the truth of God’s love set you free?

2Kings 22:8-13; Psalm 119:3-40; Matthew 7:15-20

we see
the false prophets
alive in our age
spreading lies
and rumors
in greed
for power
what law
what covenant
will turn
their minds
and hearts
to goodness
and Truth
to save
the nations

What fruit bears the evidence of Truth?
Where do you seek Truth?

2Kings 19:9-11,14-21,31-36; Psalm 48:2-11; Matthew 7:6,12-14

a mind
wide open
to God
is lead
through
the narrow gate
that gives
birth
to new life
drawn
to the light
we do
the good
to others
that has been done
to us
giving
His word
of love
to all
that would hear
the earth
becomes
His holy mountain

Is your mind wide open to the word of God?
