Isaiah 5: 1-7; Psalm 80: 9-20; Phil 4: 6-9; Mt 21: 33-43
dry land
overgrown
with thorns
and briers
laying
in ruin
lost
to their Creator
living
by their own
corrupt law
not by all
that is true
honest
admirable
decent
virtuous
and worthy
of praise
killing
what would
bring life
setting a
path of destruction
save us O Lord
save what your right hand has planted
if your face
would shine upon us
then we would
be safe
Does God stand guard over your mind and heart?
Do you present your needs to God…dismissing all anxiety from your mind?
Prayer for Troubled Times
Phil 4:6-8
“Brothers and sisters:
Have no anxiety at all,
but in everything,
by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving,
make your requests
known to God.
Then the peace of God
that surpasses
all understanding
will guard your hearts
and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters,
whatever is true,
whatever is honorable,
whatever is just,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is gracious,
if there is any excellence
and if there is anything
worthy of praise,
think about these things.
Keep on doing
what you have learned
and received
and heard
and seen in me.
Then the God of peace will be with you.”
